Hi, I’m Debra Shepherd, the creator of Light Up Literature™ Academy! As someone who has ADHD and a parent to a child with ADHD, I deeply understand the challenges that come with learning in a traditional environment. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching hundreds of students with ADHD, helping them gain confidence in reading, writing, and grammar. 

 I know firsthand that traditional methods don’t always work for ADHD learners—they need engagement, structure, and flexibility to thrive. That’s why I built Light Up Literature™ Academy—to create an ELA program that meets students where they are and helps them succeed without frustration.
